I look forward to coming again

I wanted to let you know I had a really great time in Ouray and I want to make specific mention of Matt. He was A+. A very professional and personable guy I would recommend him to anyone headed to the area. It was my first time to Ouray and Matt definitely worked to get us on all the 'choice' routes. Hats off to SWAG, and I look forward to being back. Thanks again!!

Summer backpacking perfection

From Chacago Basin to Ice Lakes, Southwest Adventures took my wife, daughter and I on two exceptional backpacking trips. We learned, we achieved and we enjoyed … enough to make backing our new "habit." Thanks, again, to Nate and his entire staff. See you soon!

Frequent repeat client-rock, ice, and mountaineering

I can't speak highly enough about the guides at SWAG! I started climbing with them as almost a complete beginner about a year ago. I have gone on more than a half-dozen trips with them (rock, ice, and mountaineering), with many more planned (including trips to Ecuador and Alaska). They have helped me progress as a climber at an incredible rate, from barely being able to get up a single easy rock or ice pitch, to cranking huge mult-pitch rock routes in the Black Canyon, Moab, and Red Rocks, as well as big alpine and mountaineering climbs. I have climbed with other guide services, and what sets SWAG apart is that the guides don't just get you up a climb, but help you learn and improve, push your limits, and have a blast doing it. Guides Ben Kiessel and Bill Grasse, as well as owner Nate Disser, are all incredible guys, and are now great friends. I highly recommend climbing with them or taking a trip or a course if you are looking for expertise, safety, one-on-one instruction, and great camaraderie.

SWAG Level 1 Avalanche course

In the attempts to further my knowledge and experience in the outdoors, I attended this course Feb of this year, and found it to be very informative, and beneficial in adding to my backcountry body of knowledge, skills, and decision-making. I especially enjoyed the small class size (5 students, with 1 instructor), in the classroom, and in the field. The instructor, Aaron Ball, was very personable, thorough, and professional. I am planning on continuing on with the Level 2 course this coming winter, and strongly recommend the Level 1 course and SWAG to my friends and clients, who pursue and are planning on pursing activities in avalanche country.

Avy 1 Class

A few years ago some girlfriends and myself decided to take an Avy 1 Class to prepare ourselves for some backcountry turns. We were recommended Southwest Adventure Guides and were not let down! These guys do a great job of introducing newbies, such as myself, to the potential dangers of backcountry travel and to the fun possibilities of educated decision making. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who is looking to travel high in the winter! Thanks Southwest Adventure Guides! (I do work for BuzzTown, but my opinions are real)

Professional and Great Trips!

Nate and the gang at SWAG run a great ship! I try to get up to the San Juan's a few times every winter and SWAG help me get the most out of the local ice for climbing and improve my skills. Also the BC skiing is second to none, and the SWAG crew always know where the best stashes of powder can be found!

all season climbs

I have climbed with SWAG in spring, summer and full winter conditions. They are great in teaching skills, climber safety and know the area mountains as well as anyone could, professional is a good description of this group. I look forward to climbing with Nate and his team in the future.

Remarkably Professional!

I was in need of basic skills training in order to take part of a fundraising trip to Mt. Shasta. The folks are SWA Guides were accomodating and professional in helping me reach my goal. They worked around my schedule and created a day of training to make sure I learned everything I needed to and then some for preparation for Shasta. My guide was attentive, knowledgeable and fun! We went up Snowdon Peak and the experience was incredible! I was more than pleased with the experience and I highly recommend Southwest Adventure Guides for all novices and experts alike!

Two excellent trips!

I couldn't imagine a better way to spend a few days in the backcountry ... great trip plans with friendly, experienced guides ... my wife, daughter and I couldn't have been happier. I wish we were there now! Definitely contact Southwest Adventure Guides for something different ... something memorable.

Southwest Adventure Guides

SAG is the best! My four outings -- climbing towers around Moab and summit climbs on Vestal, Snowden and Engineer -- were extremely well planned and managed. The staff was very helpful and the guides were great. I couldn't have asked for better support and a more positive attitude. Great job, Southwest!
