Great films this year. I would especially like to thank the Eastern Europeans (a shame they wont read this) for coming out to Durango to showcase their film. Those of you that did see the short, filmed in Russian, you probably don't know that the movie was not quite properly translated, and according to my Ukrainian girl, the "real" dialogue was a lot more amusing. I especially liked how it enabled her to interact with other Russian speaking Eastern Europeans, something that made her day. I believe that the "not 100% correct" translations gave more authenticity to the film. The creators did not know if they would be able to translate the short in time, nor did they know for certain that they would be able to make it to Durango in time. I'm happy for both. I hope their short had received similar response in New York as it did Durango, and I hope that DIFF manages to showcase more and more international films. As always, thanks to Durangos amazing local sponsors, namely Norton and Ska, who were rockstars as usual. Thanks to DIFF, all the fans, and all the filmmakers. Rockstars, everyone involved. Another well executed event that makes Durango....well, Durango.

Once of the Best Events You Can Attend
Hey Everyone! Get out and see some films! That quality of the product that DIFF brings to Durango is amazing. Last year, the film "Under Our Skin" went on to win dozens and dozens of independent film awards. It was honestly the best documentary I have ever seen. Take some time out from the cold winter days and warm yourself up with a movie.

Great Shorts program!
Last year's Shorts were fantastic! DIFF does a great job of rounding up short films from around the world and lumping them into creative categories, which makes for an interesting night of back-to-back short films. Can't wait to see what the curatorial team comes up with this year!
